Stomach Exercises

How a simple book on stomach exercises changed my life.

I was always an active guy. At 6'4" my weight seemed to always stay within a few pounds of 210. Then an accident slowed me up a lot and the weight gradually began accumulating around my middle. By my 50th birthday I topped out at 270 pounds and felt like I was 80. I doubt there were more than a few people on the planet in worse shape than I was.

It seemed like there was nothing I could do to stop gaining weight. Yes, I did stomach exercises. I bought all the exercise equipement, machines, diet books, weight loss books, weight loss programs, exercise programs, weight loss supplements and fat burners. I tried it all, liked none of it, and of course none of it helped.

Then one day I ran into a friend of mine I hadn't seen in a few years. I almost didn't recognize her as she'd lost over 100 pounds since the last time I'd seen her. She'd not only lost all that weight, but she was absolutely fit as well. When I asked her what the secret to her success was, she told me about a book on stomach exercises called "Get Firm, Flat Abs".

"But"...she said, "the book really isn't anything special. It's information you can get in a hundred other books or for free online". She went on to tell me that although the book didn't have any new breakthrough formula for stomach exercises or weight loss, she just felt that the way it was presented made setting up her own diet and fitness routine seem doable for the first time. And apparently it was.

So to make a long story short, she gave me her copy of the book to read. I read it, found it just as she described and set up my own diet and fitness routine. Flash forward 18 months and I've lost over 50 pounds and have more energy than I've had in at least two decades. I guess the book worked.

Here's what I think happened. I really wanted to lose weight and get myself into better shape to begin with. The book on stomach exercises just convinced me it was possible to do it without making major changes in my life. Little changes + little changes over time. And looking back I can honestly say it's been a piece of cake.

Here's my entire routine so you can see just how easy this has been.

I'm not using anything from the book here, but any fitness book will tell you for a well-rounded fitness program you need these three components...good nutrition, some strength training, and some cardio exercise.

For information about the good nutrition part of my program, read the two part article on ab diets on this website. Basically what it says is mostly common sense. Drop some of the bad foods you're eating. Replace them with foods not so bad or maybe even some foods that are good for you. The thing is, if you're carrying 20-30 lbs of extra fat around your middle, you have to change either the amount you eat, the type of foods you eat, or both. Common sense, right?

That's all I did, and it was very easy to do. Gradually...little changes + little changes.

My strength training is brilliantly simple if I say so myself. I watch an hour long TV show every weeknight. My biggest complaint about commercial TV has been that they'll often string 8 or 10 commercials together 4 or 5 times during an hour long broadcast. But this allows me to make use of that time. For every set of commercials during the show I do different sets of exercises. At least one or two stomach exercises and maybe something with some light weights. I vary my routine every night so I work different parts of my body, but always include the stomach exercises.

Again, that's all I do. It's very easy and literally takes no time out of my day at all.

My cardio exercise is probably the easiest part of my routine. I walk...briskly. At least a mile and a half at least five times a week. And on days when weather doesn't permit me to walk outside, I'll do 30-40 minutes on my eliptical. The point is I never skip it.

Now I'm not sure if this is really an "according to Hoyle" cardio workout, but it sure does the job and I've gotten to enjoy it tremendously as most of the time my wife joins me.

One thing we added to this we got from one of those "Jarod" Subway commercials. We have a Subway sandwich shop a bit over a mile from our home. A couple times a week we'll walk the mile plus to the Subway shop. Get a different sandwich each time. Then walk home and have them for dinner.

And that's it! My entire routine. Nothing difficult. And you don't need the dicipline of a Navy Seal to be successful. Just little changes + little changes gradually fit into your lifestyle. Anyone can do it.

Oh yeah...the book. I sell a new downloadable PDF and audio version of it. That's the reason for this website. It is an outstanding 89 page book with everything you want to know about getting firm, flat abs. It's changed both my life and my friend's life, and it's probably half the price of many others you see. But truth be told, it's just not for everyone.

As I said earlier, most or all of the information you can find on the Internet if you want to assemble it. So here's the deal...if you're like me and have tried many times before and failed. If you've wasted money buying equipement, machines, and books that you don't like and don't use. If you've tried diets but can't seem to stick with their programs. And most certainly if you're considering spending even more money on this stuff in the near future.

Give my book on stomach exercises a try. No, it's not revolutionary or breakthrough new techniques on diet and stomach exercises. But then, getting firm, flat abs isn't exactly rocket science. What it is, is a very usable common sense book that might just make a difference in your life as it has in both mine and my friend's.

Not a bad deal. Change your life for the price of dinner and a movie.
